You can’t cook with coyote melon. Technically, you can, coyote melon is a gourd. Rather, one shouldn’t cook with coyote melon. The soapy taste and bitter tang will leave much to be desired. Cooking Coyote Melon is contradictory, running restless in its expression.
What is home? Is home an object, as the definition defines? Is home the people that surround you, blood and chosen family? Is home a place, within which you were born, even on land that you are not native to?
Can home serve as many things,
and at the very same time,
speak for one word?
Home?
Home for many is a sedentary place. Home for many is a rooted place, a place within which they were wed, bred, and will be dead.
Home for the few is a feeling that moves, from storm to swarm. Much like the coyote melon, it cannot be cooked into solid form. It continuously brines, broils, bakes. Uprooted from soils, the landmines can be found afloat in lakes.
